My Approach
Given the proper tools, I believe anyone with a sincere desire for change can take action to become a healthier, happier version of themselves. I believe that everyone should have access to support in achieving their health goals. I aim to improve access to naturopathic care by committing to an anti-oppressive framework and offering a safe, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive space to express and explore your health concerns. To address financial barriers, I offer sliding scale rates and take economics into consideration when developing treatment plans and follow-up schedules. No matter the financial arrangement, every person receives the same quality of care.
My approach is collaborative but patient-centred, which means you lead the interaction, you determine our pace, and you decide where we go. Together we’ll discover the source of your concerns, remove obstacles to your well being, and enhance your ability to thrive. Our first foundational meeting involves an intake discussion around health history, daily lifestyle habits and current needs – both physiological and mental-emotional. From there, we’ll work together to develop a treatment plan that you feel you can follow.
The more I can learn about you, the better my ability to hone in on where change needs to occur in order to bring your body back into homeostasis - that dynamic balance that every body seeks. From the common cold, aches and pains or digestive and hormonal issues, to chronic illness or preventive care, I’m here to support your health concerns at every stage of healing.
Ultimately, your health is in your own hands. My role is to serve as a catalyst for change by empowering you to practice self-care.
In all aspects of my work and personal life, I affirm my condemnation of structural and interpersonal racism and stand in solidarity with all of my patients, friends and members of our community who are impacted by the systems of oppression, white supremacy and colonialism that continue to perpetuate and inflict harm. I’m committed to dismantling racism in myself, centring the voices of people who are Black, Indigenous and People of Colour, and holding others to account to do the same. More about me here.
